Great Oakland Public Schools is a 501(c)4 nonprofit organization that connects and activates an informed community network to engage in the political process through elections and related activities to advance leadership and policies to ensure that all Oakland students have the opportunity to attend quality public schools.
We are a coalition of parents, teachers, principals, and community leaders from the hills and flatlands, East, West, and North Oakland, charter and district public schools who share a vision of an Oakland where all children receive the schooling and support they need to live successful, fulfilling lives.
Why are so many Oaklanders involved in GO Public Schools? Hear directly from some of our members on our "I am GO" page.
It is the Oakland community's responsibility to ensure that Oakland public schools prepare all students with the skills and knowledge required for success in college, career, and life. Our children and youth must graduate prepared for work, citizenship, independence, and family life in a democratic community, empowered with the skills and habits of life-long learners.
We acknowledge and appreciate the hundreds of individuals who have
