Developing Academic English Through Science Instruction. Teachers will understand how to use ELD 
strategies to support science learning and academic language development for all students, including English Language Learners. Brenda Tuohy, K-5 Prep Science teacher, Think College Now and Elizabeth Woodward, Elementary Science Specialist. 
Designing a Differentiated Reader’s Workshop based on Social Studies Standards. Participants will work in groups to develop learning targets and sentence frames at various CELDT levels for use in their own classrooms. Dale Rogers-Eilers, 2nd grade teacher and Anne Perrone, Kindergarten teacher, Manzanita SEED Ethnic Studies Task Force. Participants will hear about the current work of the Ethnic Studies Task Force, share ideas for improvement of task force work, and create a grade-level appropriate lesson reflective of the Ethnic Studies Task Force purpose.
